Bursaries
About
Every year, The Black Fashion and Beauty Gala sponsors a bursary program, granting an aspiring student or entrepreneur the chance to pursue their education in the beauty and design industry. The bursary was created to decrease the dropout rate amongst Black students, due to unavailable funds, and support despite their high intellect. The bursary is also available to existing and start-up Black businesses.
The Grant
BFBG donates $5,000.00 to the awarded candidate annually. The BFBG Bursary Program is made achievable from the generous donations from corporations and sponsors that uphold the same mission to support the education of emerging Black talents.
Requirements
Aspiring students that reside in Canada, who are entering or returning to a full-time education at an accredited college or university, and/or aspiring business entrepreneurs.
Awarded Categories
Fashion Design
Awarded to a Canadian student studying Fashion Design, Merchandising, Fashion Styling at an accredited college or university or to an existing or start up Fashion Design business.
Beauty Artistry
Awarded to a Canadian student studying Esthetics, Cosmetology, and/or makeup Artistry at an accredited college or university or to an existing or startup business in the Beauty Industry.
Photography
Awarded to a Canadian student studying photography at an accredited college or university or to an existing or startup fashion photographer.
Business Management
Awarded to a Canadian student studying Business at an accredited college or university or to an existing or startup fashion and beauty business.
